Description

What do helmets, seatbelts, lifejackets, and operating reserves have in common? They exist to ensure safeguard (and sometimes peace of mind!) in the unlikely event that we need them.

Operating reserves provide a financial cushion in response to unexpected market conditions so that we can continue to fulfill our organization’s mission, vision, and goals. It can also be one of the most personalized and difficult aspects of budget development. This webinar will walk through considerations for crafting an operating reserve strategy and process that fits your overall organization’s needs.

This webinar is for individuals new to financial management, fiscal strategy, budget development and/or exploring the basic concepts of nonprofit operating reserves.

Participants will walk away with:

  • Strategies and resources for implementing and maintaining reserves
  • Reasons for building reserves
  • Understanding potential unintended consequences to having reserves
  • Planning ideas for reserves

Made possible by the generous support of Wilburforce Foundation and offered free of charge.
