Our Unique Approach
We apply a whole-system approach in our capacity building, supporting leaders and organization’s innate wisdom, capacity, and passion, and disrupting the idea that leaders must look, live, or operate a certain way.
We explore with client partners all aspects of their organization – programs, people, and money – and provide support at all levels – individuals, organizations, and networks. We believe that sustained, positive transformation will entail change at all levels.
TREC offers an unparalleled suite of free resources to nonprofits to support leaders and organizations involved in the essential and challenging work of making change. We invite you to tap into these powerful resources.
We view clients as partners, and we are in service to their needs. We listen to their aspirations, and we support them to live into their mission and meet their goals.
Our Core Strategies
We apply our services in an integrated fashion to leverage their impact. Client organizations receive support in several service areas consecutively or simultaneously. And multiple individuals from client organizations receive TREC services.

Who We Serve
TREC provides custom consulting and programming to Wilburforce grantees and Conservation Lands Foundation (CLF)’s Friends Grassroots Network. For more information on FGN services through TREC, please reach out to your CLF contact.
TREC consultants co-design a suite of services and support based on information and data gathered through baseline and readiness assessments, as well as purposeful discussions with organizational leaders and staff.
Client partners eligible for TREC consulting services will receive a welcome email and a TREC client contact. All grassroots members of CLF and grantees of Wilburforce Foundation are welcome to attend TREC webinars and utilize our free resource library.
The depth of our support is based on the following factors:

- CLF & Wilburforce program teams’ guidance on the strategic needs and priorities of their respective grantees and members
- An organization’s capacity and readiness to engage in TREC services
- Organizations looking to operationalize their commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion within core components of their work such as program improvements, human resources, policies, accountability systems, and culture.
- Organizations experiencing a notable change or transition, or a critical threat to their sustainability and existence.
- BIPOC leaders and BIPOC-led organizations who focus specifically on communities of color to mitigate inequity and racism within the environmental sector.
- Leaders managing complex issues impacting their well-being and performance.
Our Process
TREC was born of reverence for the interconnection of all beings & respect for the committing their lives to it.
Our work is founded in deep listening & curiosity.
Dreaming new & healing paths forward is our passion.
We create solutions at the intersection of emerging wisdom in the field and the dreams of our client partners, discerning what will best serve & support.
