Director of Organizational Development & Senior Consultant

Ellie Stanley (she/her) has been part of TREC since 2009 and serves as Director of Organizational Development and a Senior Consultant. Over the years, she’s worn just about every nonprofit hat—founder of two nonprofits, Executive Director, Development Director, and board member (currently with the Thich Nhat Hanh Foundation). These experiences have shaped her into a true generalist, someone who sees the whole ecosystem of an organization and how all the pieces connect.

Her passion is supporting the wellbeing of the whole organization. Ellie believes that when the inner life of an organization is tended with care—its relationships, culture, and sense of purpose—everything else can flourish.

Outside of work, Ellie finds joy in the small things that make life rich: tending her flower garden, knitting cozy sweaters, and exploring waterfalls, secret swimming holes, and mountain trails. She carries a commitment to joy, peace, compassionate honesty, and deep relationship—values that infuse both her consulting and her daily life.

Ellie makes her home in Black Mountain, North Carolina, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains and Pisgah National Forest.

Ellie is a white woman in her 50s with long gray and brown hair that she’s wearing pulled back. She’s wearing a black jacket and is standing in front of a lake and rolling hills in the background.
