Senior Consultant

Juliette Lee (she/her) joined the team in 2021 and directs TREC’s diversity, equity, and inclusion consulting strategy. She resides in Denver, Colorado.

Raised by immigrant orphans and Korean war survivors, Juliette grew up outside Washington, DC. She started organizing as a canvass director and campus organizer for the Public Interest Research Groups (PIRGs) then taught college and post-graduate writing, gender, and genre courses for a decade. She previously served as the Program Director at Chinook Fund and also held leadership in The Giving Project Network, a national collaborative of social justice funders dedicated to advancing anti-oppressive funding models.

Juliette is guided by the wisdom and insights of Frantz Fanon, ecology philosophers like Timothy Morton and feminist sociologist, Miliann Kang. Her work is rooted in consensus processes, pragmatism, and nonviolence ethics, while her worldview is informed by liberatory pedagogy, ethnic studies, and feminist studies.

Outside of TREC, Juliette is a dedicated and accomplished writer, video artist, and musician passionate about using arts as a vehicle for change. She’s held international residencies in video art and poetry, published five books, and is a former Pew Fellow in the Arts.

Juliette loves getting outside, cooking for friends, supporting the arts, making noise, and cracking jokes.

Juliette is a Korean American woman with long black hair. She is standing in front of a white wall and smiling, while wearing a white shirt with gold embroidery and green earrings shaped like a snake.
