Dana Holtby (they/them) is a longtime lover of the environmental justice movement. Having grown up in Anishnaabe territory on the north shore of Lake Superior, they’ve spent their life in the pursuit of connecting to place and building community. Now based in Lekwungen territory (Victoria, BC), Dana has spent the last decade supporting Indigenous Rights and reconciliation initiatives in British Columbia, Nunavut, and the Northwest Territories, and through organizations such as Coastal First Nations and the Polis Water Governance Project. Dana currently works as an Advisor for the BC Parks and Recreation Program Indigenous Relations team. There they work to forward initiatives like the Guardians Shared Compliance and Enforcement Pilot that seeks to bridge the gap between Indigenous and colonial environmental laws and stewardship.

When not at their desk, Dana can be found hiking in the alpine, playing roller derby with the Eves of Destruction, surfing (or at least attempting to!) in the Salish Sea, or cooking up delicious meals with friends.
