The job of Executive Director is challenging in many ways, as it requires skills that are both broad and deep. These challenges can seem particularly overwhelming to the new ED at the beginning of their tenure. TREC recognizes that providing guidance early on can make a real difference in the new person feeling oriented and supported in their larger role. The new ED Forum provides both an overview of key skills as well as an opportunity to discuss issues and challenges with peers. Designed as seven easily-accessible webinar sessions, the NEDF covers topics such as organizational ecology, getting off to a fast start, working with staff, financial management, fundraising, Board relationships and personal resilience.
