Andrés Esparza (He/Him) joined TREC in 2023 as a Senior Consultant and helps lead TREC leadership development programming as well as other consulting and coaching needed throughout the network.
He has worked in the conservation and education field for the better part of two decades on public lands throughout the Western US. Through his time in a variety of roles, Andrés has always strived to engage diverse and often underrepresented populations with their public lands through education, recreation, advocacy, and stewardship in an effort to ensure the survival, inclusivity, and relevancy of our public lands in the years to come.
In addition to his role at TREC, Andrés is the Board President of Bikepacking Roots, a proud new dad to his adorable toddler (Ames) and a partner to his equally charming and adventurous wife (Kira).
Andrés holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Texas at El Paso and a Master in Environmental Management degree from Western Colorado University. Andrés works and lives in Southwest Colorado where he enjoys whatever outdoor recreation opportunities the season permits.
